Some customers would like to have a pre-populated pick list available for jobs that always use the same tools.
Such a list can be created but unlike most other created and adjustable features like Cost Allocation, you are not able to access, change or view your lists without using the export/import function. This article explains how to create pick lists.
Section 1 is a straightforward list where there is no cost allocation
Section 2 gives instructions for if a pick list is associated with a cost allocation structure.
When pick lists are available, operators will see an extra icon on the SFI
Straightforward Pick Lists
Create a list or lists
First of all go into System Settings - Stock Daily Use and make sure there is a tick in Enable predefined pick lists
Go to Administration - Export
From the menu of possible exports, you will be working, in order, with these
Those in the red boxes must always be used, the others are only used if you have the relevant restrictions in place. All the ones you use must be used in order, and you need to import one, before moving on to export the next.
So select Pick lists and export (don't forget select all!)
The excel spreadsheet you get will ask you to give your pick list a Name and an ID. The ID is important to remember in the next steps!
As ever, the columns in bold must be filled in - also in this case you must tell the software that the list is not deleted (see column B in red square). You can choose if you would like operators to be able to change the quantity of each item in the list and if the quantity is ready-fixed for them or they need to choose.
You can create more than one pick list at a time
Now use the import function to import this spreadsheet back to Pick Lists.
So you now have a pick list but you need to specify what is in it.
Populate the list with items
Back to export, this time, as we have no cost allocations, select Pick List Items and export that.
In this spreadsheet fill in as you see, remembering the Pick List ID you chose! And again you need to specify that it is not deleted. Save and import.
Back on the admin portal, ensure you synchronise. Once done, your SFI landing page will have the extra icon
On clicking that icon, operators will see the list or lists from which they can select. See the steps below
